Send Mr. Smith to Washington!
While officially still listed as our US Senator, Bob Casey Jr. has been MIA or fighting on the side of the enemy on important matters for Pennsylvania and America. This must end.
It is vitally important to undo the economy-destroying regulations of Barack Obama. We cannot count on Casey to help US because he mistakenly thinks all is well. We elect Senators one at a time and Bob Casey Jr. is up for election again. Many in my part of the state, which is also Casey’s part of the state, see the Senator as being a real dud, and more of an embarrassment than a help to Pennsylvanians. Senator Robert P. Casey Jr. has been a do-nothing, mostly invisible Senator. He has never held a real job in the private sector. His biggest failing as a politician is that he does not like the job of representing the people. Yet, right now; that is his job!
Should anger and hate respond to anger and hate?
Response to “Anger and hate only divide us."
On August 26, I read with great interest John M. Castagna’s letter to the editor (“Anger and hate only divide us). Ironically, his letter was not without its own share of anger and hate. In it, he picked apart Bill Dress’s letter of July 28. I give both Mr. Castagna and Mr. Dress the benefit of the doubt that they both want what is best for America. They clearly have differing opinions however, as to what is best. Mr. Castagna’s major point of annoyance with Dress was his comments about the lady with the Access Card (food stamps). Castagna was correct in that the card does not permit the purchase of non food-stuff. The rest of Castagna’s letter showed a lot of venom for all conservatives, though it was factually inaccurate. Other than the Access Card story, Dress’s letter was correct. Obama hype has not changed our nation for the best. A big thank you goes to the Times Leader for printing all points of view.
Stop government lies! Short version
The lie has become the most powerful political tool for assuring power!
When our President ran for office in 2008, like many Presidents before him, he made a lot of promises that during his term, he has not kept. For example, he declared that he would unite, not divide. I do regret that he could not do this but this is not a big sin. What is a sin, whether the audience is Republican or Democrat, is knowing that what you are saying is a lie, and then going ahead and saying it anyway. Obama’s attacks as of recent days about Bain Capital and offshoring have been debunked by progressives and Democrat fact checkers and they are simply not true. Yet they have not stopped. Only somebody living in Kenya or Indonesia for the last year could have missed the truth on these matters. I won’t go there, thank you. The fact is that when somebody knows the truth and they lie anyway, thinking it will help them in say, battleground states, they have sinned in my book. Knowingly lying is not in the same league as an unfulfilled promise. America deserves better than lies from its President.
Intimidating seniors is out of line
Submitted to Times Leader April 7, 2012
With a country steep in debt, going deeper in debt, digging a deeper hole each and every day, mortgaging its children's future with every dollar spent, and with the most plentiful manufacturing jobs documented as being in the assembly lines of Burger King, KFC, Mickey D's, Taco Bell, and Abe's Hot Dogs, a reasonable and prudent person would conclude that any government Administration would be going out of its way to change its legacy and right the ship. But, not this one!
Big Government Doesn't Work Smaller Version
I am for helping helpless people, but I am not for making people helpless.
The Founders of our country, such as Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin and others knew that not all good people are good all the time and that even well meaning people make bad decisions. A politician is somebody who once elected begins to run for the next term while still holding office. Politicians are the bane of our country. All 545 leaders of the USA have contributed to our current malaise. We have no choice but to send them all back from whence they came. Take no chances -- fire them all in 2012 and start over. The Constitution permits us to start over every six years but do we have the guts?
The US Tax Code Is a Joke
As a starter, please consider that the US tax code is over 75,000 pages of exemptions and exceptions written by lobbyists and passed into law by our esteemed Congress. Don't forget who permits this atrocity to continue from one Congress to another. Vote them out if they choose not to address the use of the tax code as a political tool. The message here is to get politics and about 74,900 pages out of the tax code.
Do not vote for the anti-Leighton anti Leighton
Do not publish this unless you close it with the following:
Do not vote for the anti-Leighton anti Leighton
I don’t know anybody who knows Tom Leighton who doesn’t like him personally. I have seen some of his relatives who have different names than his recently, appealing to the people in various papers to vote for Tom. They have a right to feel that way. Tom Leighton is not a bad guy and his term as Mayor has not been too bad.

The first time I mentioned my three "R" Jobs Plan for America was at the Barney Inn, Wilkes-Barre on October 21, 2011. It was my announcement for running for the Senate of the United States of America against Robert P. Casey, Jr. Of course everybody knew what it was all about. The three R"s traditionally have been about education and how important it is to learn Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic. But, my three R's are not about Education.
The bleakest statistic about the class of 2011, in which I was a professor at Marywood University is that in the whole United States of America, over 85% of the graduates went back to live with Mom and Dad after graduation, mostly for financial reasons.
Lace Curtain Irish and Shanty Irish; Hoi Polloi and Hoity Toity
All immigrants have had major issues coming to America. There was no road paved in gold, which they could follow. There was no road in fact, leading to a sure supply of food for their families. They had heard and believed their lot would be better in the New World, America. So they came despite no roads paved in gold or caviar. Yet, in the end, all immigrants from years back at least, embraced America and loved to become Americans and they found their place. It is this stock which bred the country we know simply as America. The stock for the melting pot consisted of many types of immigrants. The Irish were just one variety that melted in.

Letter from a conservative Democrat to Republican opinionists.
The presidential primary election is not tomorrow!
Take your time before you eliminate all of the Republicans / conservatives!
Who is left when all are gone?
If before all the debates are done, and before most people even know who he is, we see that Rick Perry actually is the best conservative candidate and yet, we choose to dismiss him because we feel he is unelectable, does that help conservatives? If we minimize him in terms that everybody, including non-conservatives understand, since we believe he is unelectable, does that then help the conservative movement prevent four more years of misery with Barack Hussein Obama? (BHO)?

Americans Should Get Jobs First
You and I both probably know a lot of fine people, who are non-citizens, who are here legally on a visa or on a green card. This thesis is not to suggest that we send any of them back home until their visa is up. As nice as we are to foreigners in America, assuring they have jobs as a condition of staying in America, we need to take care of Americans first.
Too Many Visas and Green Cards for Tough Economic Times
The government of the United States was once run by the people. That is how it was set up and how it was intended to be. Today, the national government is so big, way too big, and the leaders are so brash that in many ways they do whatever they want, and we the people can go to-- well, you know where.
Why would the US government grant over 1.1 million temporary work visas last year to foreign nationals with more than that scheduled for this year?

The Medicare game: a game that the people cannot win
More and more Americans are seeing our dishonest politicians making a game out of the important matters of the day. Worse than that, in their silly game, the winner is not determined by whether the people are served. There is just one prize and we the people are ineligible to win the prize. Victory in the political game for dishonest politicians simply means that they get reelected. In between elections of course, they are concerned only about the next election so the people's real business goes undone. One of the current popular political games is the game of Medicare.

Never Trust a Politician To An Important Job -- Like Medicare
More and more Americans are getting more and more upset with dishonest politicians making a game out of important matters of the day with victory not determined by whether the people are served. Victory for dishonest politicians simply means that they get reelected. Actually the term dishonest politicians is redundant as the word politician connotes the same exact meaning today. Politicians are recognized as being lower than the stuff at the bottom of the ocean and every day that they connive, they dig themselves in deeper and deeper. Unfortunately, they appear to enjoy it.

A new idea for term limits!
Many Americans feel they are facing poor government now and will be through 2012 because of the political leftovers that continue to make poor decisions for all of US. Normal people can fully sympathize with the notion that a certain percentage of the members of Congress, no matter whether corrupted in their first term or their thirteenth term, become corrupt nonetheless. Career politicians are therefore a big problem for America. We need a better way of dealing with the corruption of otherwise good people by spending too many years in office. The popular idea of term limits certainly addresses the problem of lecherous career politicians.
Built-in flexible term limits -- the solution.
Should Planned Parenthood hold up budget talks?
If abortion doesn't matter in the shutdown debate then Planned Parenthood, the biggest abortion mill in the US should get as much funding as Unplanned Parenthood. UP is merely a bunch of unorganized US Citizens who have decided to be parents and raise their children in their wombs. Eventually a real human being emerges from the wombs. Don't these parents, who have permitted children to live, need more funding than those who abort their babies? Or, is that just a silly conservative notion?
But, perhaps it is worthy of discussion. Harry Reid sees PP as essential for women as long as they are not still in the womb. If we donated to UP, we could at least be sure that nobody dies.
Do Democrats enjoy intimidating seniors?
As you suspected, this piece is much too long for inclusion in our lettersto the editor forum. We ask that letters be kept to 250 words or less.
In any case, thanks for "shopping" it to us.
Sincerely,
