For the rich, it will be a matter of safety to flee the US as it turns more progressive / socialist and there is no limit to the tax rates. Don;t forget to tell your children to not achieve great things for fear that one day they may become rich and be envied and hated in their own country. Will we be better off when the American dream is a larger handout from government? How much taxation is fair? When those who pay no taxes decide how much those that pay taxes should pay, there will be no more freedom and no more liberty and anarchy will prevail.
Alexis de Tocqueville once said "The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with their own money."
Winston Churchill once said: "We contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.
Samuel Adams once said: "Now what liberty can there be where property is taken without consent?"
Ronald Reagan once said: Who says, Here's the key, there's the Treasury, just take as many of those hard-earned tax dollars as you want
Thomas Jefferson once said: "When the government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny."
Ron Paul once said: One thing is clear: The Founding Fathers never intended a nation where citizens would pay nearly half of everything they earn to the government.
My final thought is that when all is said and done we get the government we deserve.
